CONSULTATION
A consultation is a focused, one-time session for individuals or couples seeking clarity on a specific issue. It can be helpful when feeling stuck, considering a decision, questioning current therapy, or trying to determine what kind of support would be most useful. They typically last about 75-minutes and are structured to quickly understand the situation and provide practical feedback and clear next steps. For some, a single session is enough. If additional support would be beneficial, options can be discussed, but there is no expectation of ongoing work.
INTAKE
An intake is the first and necessary step and longest session (typically 60-90 minutes) in ongoing therapy. It’s an in-depth conversation that looks carefully at what’s bringing you in, the context around it, and the patterns that may be shaping things beneath the surface.
In addition to understanding your current concerns, the intake includes relevant history, relationships, and ways of coping, with an eye toward making sense of how things have come to be as they are.
This process helps clarify what the work will focus on and how to approach it which is discussed and fine-tuned at the end of the session. It also allows you to determine whether it feels like a good fit to continue.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Individual sessions with Dr. Levy provide a safe, non-judgmental, collaborative space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in depth.
